Edna-Mae and David Johnson always knew they wanted to live in the mountains. They just kept being drawn to the area through the media and personal visits to Western Canada / NW US. Revelstoke just kept saying 'home' to them.
Their intent has always been to set up a B&B and the availability of a beautiful heritage home in downtown Revelstoke was a surprise that sealed the undertaking. Edna-Mae knew she could do the work, make great breakfasts and was accustomed to having a lot of people around. From the day of 'Open for Business', they have had guests knocking at the door.
Recent renovations to the Minto Manor include trying to go green with connection to the community energy system, and installation of energy efficient windows and appliances.
Both Edna-Mae and David have brought a wealth of knowledge and cultural interests with them and Revelstoke has benefited greatly from their presence. They have always freely given of their time and expertise to become fully engaged members of the community.
