Elegance at affordable prices. When Brooke and Sandi Leatherman arrived from Palo Alto, California in the early 1990s, they saw an opportunity that no one else did in a crumbling hotel. Their vision and drive led to the creation of the Dancing Bear Inn.
Located on Nelson's bustling, historic Baker Street, the Dancing Bear is now known internationally on the travelers' circuit - more than 70 percent of its client base is foreign - for its amenities, ambience and affordability. The Inn is an ongoing showcase of the talents and skills of local artists, crafts and trades people. Brooke and Sandi's Inn has won many awards including Hostelling International's prestigious Most Outstanding Hostel Award for Canada.
